ya when i put my CAI in i barely felt a difference from my stock tube with a cone filter. my friend said he noticed a difference. i dunno i have trouble noticing differences, didnt feel anything with my exaust either. but the CAI does sound bad ASS!

its an iceman w/ k&n filter... 2nd gear defintly pulls harder, no more bogging down.
i paid 60$ for it used, came with everything from the original package including the box and stickers lol. so i got a kickass deal, but i wouldnt pay 200$ for it.
2 things i didnt take into consideration, its for a 95 eclipse... so the filter doesnt sit exposed directly to the air. i have to figure out a way to get more air in there.... also i just put on my 17's which probably slowed me down a bit.

I don't think it will make much difference what year its for. Personally, if I were to buy any of them brand name, Iceman is the one I'd get. Less heat soak, but I bet your wheels are countering the butt dyno results from this pinnacle of all mods. :p

Yeah, wheels serverly affect the butt dyno.

i officially beat it up... theres some difference. pulls hard up through the top of 2nd, doesnt bog down like it used to. 4500+ pulls nice, it basically just evened out and strengthened the powerband.... defintly worth the 60 bucks i spent, if nothing else for the sound alone...
well... i think the butt dyno suffering is defintly worth the beauty that is *points to sig*

go read the other cai thread in the general section. turbo and i had some "fun" discussing why you dont need to expose the cai to "open" air. the only advantage of opening up the area around the intake is a denser air uptake due to cooler temps. you cant force more air into the motor w/out forced induction.

im not talking abotu forcing more air in, im talking about just blowing cold air over it...

cool, its just when you said:
"so the filter doesnt sit exposed directly to the air. i have to figure out a way to get more air in there"
it made me wonder, lol.

I bet if you went to the track with the short ram vs the cai you would see a difference... Somethings aren't that noticable on the butt dyno but when it's on paper it is!
