73559, Help! Fusible Link keeps blowin!!! (long)

We'll just say that I overreved a little. Anyway my car died and wouldn't start back up. No leaks, timing belt was just replaced, and everything looks ok. Got towed home 78 miles for free(I love AAA). Once at home I went to do the key dance to see if I got any codes set and I noticed there was no CEL(WTF). Took out the Haynes found the 30 Amp fusible link under the hood was blown. Replaced it and she started right up. But now once the engine has a heavy load on it(hard acceleration) the damn fusible link blows again. Already swapped a spare computer and coil. WTF? Any ideas?

Which fusible link? That might help. If it's the one going to the alternator, make sure the hot wire isn't grounding out. That blows them like crazy. Ask me how I know.

30amps? as far as i remember, the only fuse under the hood w/ a 30amp rating is the power windows. not 100% sure though.

when you try to start the car, do you hear any clicking? if so, does it attemp tto crank but just doesnt start? or is there nothing at all?

not quite. the power window is 30a, as well as the engine fusible link, radiator fan and the ignition fusible link. all pink teeth, lol. they look like teeth.
identify which one of these is the one that keeps blowing on ya...

The one that keeps blowin is the 30 amp engine one not the ignition. The car runs fine until i hit the gas hard then poof the damn fusible link blows. When it goes it takes fuel pump and check engine light and who knows what else i haven't noticed but i just pop another one in and it cranks right back up. Is this the fusible link that goes to the alternator???

Check that there's not a wire shorting out somewhere that only contacts the block when you're flooring it.

I had that EGR actuator disk pop off the front of my engine, and the wiring harness was able to contact the EGR pipe, melt, and short out when I floored it. It would always blow that 30a engine fusible link.

Yeah check the harness that runs ovet the EGR tube. I had a similar problem.

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction)
fastest 2GNT with a hitch! until proven wrong...

put a bigger fuse in it. Like a 40 amp then start your car and let it run for a while and check the wires to see if any of them got hot. That's an easy way of telling where your short it.

It ended up being the alternator all the wiring was fine. She's up and running again! Thanks for all the help everyone.
