Had some coolant line failure issues the past couple days, and the engine overheated for a very short time (about 3/4 up on the guage). I immediately pulled over/turned on heater/etc... Had to pull off every few offramps to fill the car with water so I could get home. It was easy to sense the coolant levels b/c the cabin heater would just blow cold eventually

Anyways, so that was pretty minor, but when I left for school today (I thought everything was repaired) it started to overheat again. I let it idle but the temps continued to rise. After a couple minutes it obviously wasn't going down at idle so I shut her down. It was probably slightly above 3/4 on the stocker heat guage. Never hit the top of the guage during the whole ordeal.

Oh yea, might I add that pulling over to gas stations in San Bernardino is teh suck. I think all the drunk immigrants decided to hang out near the air/water pumps last night. my passengers = traumatized

damn erik! im sorry man. i know what you mean pulling over in the san bernardino gas stations!! my gf lives up there and i stopped to put in some oil one time, SKETCHY. ugh. i was alone too.

anyway, about the HG...if you have a composite HG its more prone to having issues with more heat. if you would have let it boil over im sure you'd be having problems but sounds to me like you saved it.

coolant line problems? like what? sure its not the themostat? you can replace it with a howell 160 or i think i have a stocker somewhere around here you can have, even if its not the problem...the 160 sure is nice :) my needle sits LOW on my temp gauge, coolant temp like 150ish
