Does anyone know how this stupid thing works or if its even important??? Lifters started tapping after rebuild and sent it back to the shop to get fixed. Now I got a CEL code and it saying the EGR valve is messing up. No one will have one until next week. I am soo pissed cause it seems like I cant go riding this weekend (AGAIN). Any info please let me know. TIA

drive on it, youll be fine. i removed my egr system entirely. CEL is your friend. if the only code you have is EGR, you can go cruisin, it wont affect anything

yeah man its better to block it off, it prevents nasty shit going throught your intake manifold, its just there to recycle the air, which actually is unfortunately carbon and shit, dont believe me, take the agr tube from your intake mani and look inside, its diameter is probably half of what it is suppose to be b/c of carbon build up, I bet ya :) anyways sorry bout your luck w/ the lifters, you can buy a block off kit or make your own out of tin...peace
