Hey guys I have been searching, but I just swapped my stock tb for the jeep tb, and it works great, but now when I am slowing down like at a light, and I step on the clutch, my rpms don't drop, but rather stay at about 2000...never did that before with the stock. The car idles fine at 800-900 rpm, but when I first push the clutch pedal in, the rpms hang at 2000. Any idea why? Thanks

Two possibilites that I can think of off the top of my head:

Check to see if the throttle is closing all the way (cable).
TPS could be giving a wrong voltage.

in theory the ECU should keep the RPM's at 1200-1400ish until you come to a complete stop to strengthen the vacuum pressure in order to ensure easy brake modulation.

forgetting for a minute that i have no experience with the 60mm General Purpose throttle body, it would be my best guess that the different throttle body reacts differently with the stock ECU. maybe it has a larger IAC passageway or something?

nah... if it was that, idle would be affected too. hmmmmm...

Mine does that too. Mostley when I'm cruisin on the highway for a while. When I come the first stop, the car will hang, what I found I hafta do is shut car off and restart, sometimes if I tapp the gas it will go narmal. Since I don't do much highway travel with my car this hasn't been a problem for me so far.

Thanks guys, I do I the same, just tap the gas and it drops to 900 rpm, but when I am coming to a stop, it will hang around 2000-1500 rpm, doesn't really bother me, I just something was wrong with my install. I'll keep you guys updated if I can figure something out

If it ain't broke...

They all develope this behavior eventually. I wrote it off as normal a long time ago.

Wanna see something neat, though? Unplug your speed sensor, and i bet it won't do that. This leads me to believe the ECU does this purposely - it knows the car is moving (vss input) so it keeps the idle up.

Our cars are so smart sometimes. I've noticed that Daisy does this with a stock TB ported out a little bit too. Not quite to 2000, but still noticeable.

Mine does the exact thing at 2000rpms, but it still does it even when its completely stopped, maybe/sometimes (very rare) it will drop to about 1k, after I sit still for a while.. hell if I know
