Ive got a bad 2.0 NT i got a great deal on a 2.4 low miles out of an avenger the avenger motor sits 180% opposite of the 2.0 eclipse soooo what I plan on doing is using the cylinder of the 2.4 and the head of the 2.0 what I hear w/ some minor machine shop work its possible???

if you use the search funttion you will find ALOT of info about swapping in a 2.4L... i promise there will be enough info to keep you reading for HOURS!!!!

Wasn't the 2.4L in the Avengers a 6 cylinder? I'm going to say no you can't use that one. You need the 2.4L 4 cylider out of a Stratus, Cirrus or Breeze. :shrug

what the hell are you talking about ?
Avenger and Sebring have the EXACT same 2.0 witht the EXACT same orientation has the Eclipse and Talon

the 2.4 is found in the cloud cars (Cirrus , Stratus, Breeze and Sebring convertible) and some Caravan

and the engine has the same orientation it's the head that is not the same , flowing in reverse of the 2.0 of the Eclipse

yes you could put the 420a head on the 2.4 , it's more than a little machine shop work to make everything compatible and to drop the engine under your hood however

read his SN.....4g63....so im wondering if he's a 1g with the NT 4g63..or a guy with a 420a :shrug if your a 4g63 then use the block from a spyder....otherwise...as ^ stated above use the block from a cloud car.

EDIT: and the v6 avenger/seabring's use the 3.0l block 6g72.... a NT 3kgt engine

There was never a 2.4L in an Avenger.

There was a 2.5L 6G73 V-6 in the Avenger from 95-00.

The 2.4L came in PT Cruiser, Stratus, etc...

The Chrysler 2.4L can be swapped in if you know what you are doing. The Mitsubishi 2.4L 4G64 isn'
