I'm Trying to find out if a 4G63T engine will fit in a 1998 Mit. Eclipse RS. Also if the motor mounts are in the same position as the 89-94 Eclipse. And if the stock transmissions are compatible with that engine.

let me answer your question. yes its possible, no the mount and tranny are not even close, not to mention the ECU, wiring harness..it can be done...for say about $6,000....take a peek in our turbo forum...easist way is to drop $3,000 and get a turbo kit made for our engines..

USE-THE-SEARCH. better yet...see the TWSB section...you can, but its inprobable. if you want a fwd with a 4g63 sell your car and buy a gst. you can pick up a nice gst for what its gonna cost you to do the swap. everything is reversed...transmission, everything. its not even the same mfg.

Don't worry PlyHrd, there is no such thing as a stupid question. It just happens that this question is asked quite frequently. That's why everyone is so grumpy. Read over the FAQ, it really does cover the basics about your car. I know I asked the same question when I started modding my car.

Actually, you drive a Mitsubishi chassis with a Mopar engine and drivetrain...and there is the 2.4L swap :P

I know man, I'm just giving ya hell ;)

-Corey

P.S. - If the thread starter wants to know about the 2.4L swap, then use the search function and read all the previous threads before asking any questions. It's not a small undertaking by any means, but if you're going to spend the money you might as well do it right.
