This thing kicks ass!! I wish I had installed it on my talon 2 years ago when I bought it.
If you have $150 laying around, check out www.roadraceengineering.com or anywhere you find with a better price and get this bad boy!!

I've got the symborski coming too from machV. I didn't notice much of a difference with it on the Talon, hopefully it feels better with the B&M in the Eclipse.

If I had to do it all over again; I think i'd install it with the RRE bushing kit instead of the Symborski. and make sure you use the locktite on the bold or else in time it will break (the bolt).

Which bolt? I installed mine (excellent, btw), and loctited the bolt that connects it to the shifter cable, but the bolt that attaches the pivot didn't lock up as well...

How does using loctite/threadlocker prevent the bolt from breaking? All loctite does is prevent a nut/bolt from backing out under vibration.

If you can separate yourself from $150, for basically no performance, but the fun of driving skyrockets . . . go for it!

the bolt that the b&m shortthrow pivots on snaped on me and it was stuck in reverse... luckily this happened at the muffler shop and not going down the road. that could have been really bad

i have the pacesetter short throw shifter...... i have to say im not too impressed with it. i bought it a year and a half ago for $120.im looking at investing in a B&M but they were way more expensive but i hear they are better and the price has dropped dramatically since then.... so if someone wants to buy my pacesetter one :)

I havent' gotten to drive with a chopped shifter, but I think this would be much better. I was trying to imagine which would shift faster, and I don't think the chopped shifter is really going to shorten the throw that much. Plus it looks like crap all pushed down into the boot. The B&M shifter maintains stock height, which keeps the shifter looking stock. With the shifter set on 50% shorter throw it takes like 2" off of the original throw up and down from neutral. Just an estimate, but 4" less throw per gear.
Edit: Oh yeah, UPS guy just delivered my Symborski shifter kit. Going on Saturday. :)

I just installed my B&M last weekend, it feels awesome! It actually sits a little lower than stock, maybe an inch. You can look in someones car and tell its a B&M because the stick sits a little angled, kind of aggressive looking. It is missing that little curve that the stock shifter has. I had a cut & welded shifter for about a year and a half before this B&M. It made a small difference and looked better but a real short shifter changes the fulcrum point. I love my whole shift package now, symborski kit, B&M, greddy/trust knob, and a real italian leather custom shift boot with red stitching just for looks.
BTW the cheapest place for a B&M is ptuning.com $143 with our discount and free super fast shipping.:thumbsup
Turning is fun too! go to www.sccaforums.com -Do it...do it-

I got my symborski shifter kit installed last night. Same thing as the last time I bought it for the N/T, I don't feel a whole lot of difference, but it might be a bit easier to hit each gear, especially on quick shifts. Oh well, was only $35, and probably worth every penny.
