Well, just figured out why my car has been running like shit since i installed the cam gears. One of the gears doesnt have the + and - signs on them and the whole time ive been in the - with the intake gear instead of +. So, running -3 exhaust and -6 intake DOES NOT WORK!!!! Now, i have the gears set to +2 exhaust and +5 intake and the car idles smoothly, and so far it pulls hard in first and second. I still need to drive the car a bit longer for the ecu to learn itself all over again. I figure a good drive tomorrow will lean everything out and i will be back to normal again. WOOHOO for stupidity!

Should i gap my plugs to .050 now or leave them at .042?

I had mine at .44 and it idled goofy. Then went high to .60

.50 has worked best.

Sorry if it is a dumb question but how exactly do you gap your spark plugs?

if you really dont know how to gap your plugs, go to advance(or similar store) and buy a 99 cent plug gapper and have the guy/girl at the desk show you exactly how to do it, you DONT want to break anything then install it in your motor.

I dunno if Advanced could show anyone shit. They argued with me once about what engine I have in my Talon after giving me the wrong fuel filter, and I ended up telling them to go fuck themselves and haven't been back since ;p

Olympic (Olympia these days, I suppose) and AutoZone haven't done me wrong yet, though.

I have my plugs gapped at .060, but I have a SD Coil, Crane Firewire Plugs Wires, and 1 range hotter plugs. Goodluck!

Unless you've got a real strong spark like /\/\/\ then go with .050

lmao!! I went to three different autoparts stores before anyone was competent enough to give me the right fuel filter!

i just went in back and read through there book to pick out mine

i tried .050 with the plugs today and it has reacted very well..i might be on the way to having a normal car once again.
