.050 here..ive never seen anyone with more taken off.

If you have a decent mill, post your cam gear settings as well and how well the car idles/accelerates/etc. Thanks!!

mine is milled .035 and i have adj cam gears for now im using 0* intake and -2* exhaust... i will see how that is running. i will be in breakin for a week so until then i can't really run it hard.

i have mine set to -2.5 exhaust and 0 intake right now..idle SUCKS but acceleration is better than before the cam gears

thats 40 thousandths milled, i honestly dont see how you can mill any more than this. this is advice given to me by a professional motor builder.

When i had this done, i actually think i asked dino what the limit on ours heads were, and i was told 70 thousandths. If it wasnt dino then it was someone from this board.

The only way you are getting .050" is to remove the valves. Then you have to worry about the valve seats and getting then recut. It's not a simple mill, and I wouldn't mill that much. If anything happens to your head at .050", like a blowd headgasket and your head warps, you probably have a paperweight. Chris' picture of a .040" mill is really as far as yuo can go with the valves in, at about .045"-.050" I think is where you start to hit the valve seat itself.

With that say I'm about .035" or so milled off and I'm working on getting the cams back to dead on, probably in the range of -2 degrees. But it changes as you mill because you will eventually switch from the closest to stock setting being a little retarded instead of being a bit advances on your timing.
