Hey Guys!

Just need help picking out the tpe of spark plugs that i need to buy. Which are the best to buy for performance......In other words, which are hotter than stock and work best! TIA

ill just um... piggyback on this thread and ask... which plugs are best for turobcharged applications

search...but i'll give the answer cuz i am a nice guy. the bkr5e-11's for hotter and the bkr7e-11s for turbocharged.

its bkr 7e. the e-11s are not gapped correctly.
this is for turbo apps.

Uhm....as far as I've ever seen NO plug is gapped correctly when you buy it. That's why you invest the $0.99 in a gap wheel

the bkr7e plugs are.

and i had to order mine. like clubplug.net or something like that. advanced auto can order them for you too.

would your average parts store have these plugs? sound a little specialized

Has anyone tried non-resistor plugs?

I love my 5E's. I got mine at Napa. I don't know if it's the plugs, or if my car's just been in a good mood, but it has 'felt' better accelerating through the RPM sweet spot ever since I put them on. My .02.

NAPA carries NGKs. I buy mine from them. BKR5E-11 is one range hotter; I run those & get ~28 mpg. And even if you bought plugs that were supposedly pre-gapped, why would you not take the time to be sure they were correct? The tool is cheap and you can be positive they are gapped correctly. I do not mean to insult but if you are buying plugs that you supposedly do not have to gap, that is just plain lazy.

checking them or not, the 7e's are pre gapped correctly.

i check mine before every install. do with yours as you please.

i did a search... woaaaah am i off!! I pulled the plugs just now... One was still at .27 the others were closer to 32... I set them all to 34 we'll see what happens in the morning... WOAH.

Every single plug of the NGKBKR7E's(turbo) I have gotten, never needed gapped, but I do check with a gauge just to be sure..its always good practice. If you get the 7E-11's, you need to gap those smaller..(turbo) I order mine from Adavanced Auto parts, can get them next day usually.

Tried to get some BKR7E's at Pep Boys today, no luck.

Didnt have accel wires either... I just went with the POS 7mm borg warner ones... HUGE f'n difference!!! Runs so much smoother now!

At what interval do you guys change your plugs? When you change the oil?

I get my BKR5E-11's at Advance Auto...

Can't get them at Autozone or Pepboys around here...

i change my oil and plugs every 3k. probably too often, but i dont care, its only a few bucks and i dont drive that much.
