Alright, for everone out there lets get this cleared up now. DO NOT use a 5 ton 3 claw puller on the harmonic pulley. It well BREAK. Trust me, i just found out the hard way :bash i went to autozone and ended up getting the wrong puller and now i'm having to install an unorthadox udp because i broke the original. i was planning on putting on the udp anyway, just not yet. after spending about 3 hours trying to get the thing off, breaking it remember, i went back to autozone and got the crystler harmonic dampener puller, hooked it up and it came off about 2 minutes later. couldn't have been easier. so, moral of the story, thank god for next day overnight and, no matter what anyone says, USE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB.

I have used a 5 ton numberous times with no probs as everyone else has too. How were you grabbing it, if you are grabbing the outer ring then yea it will break. if you garb the hub then it will be fine. If you dont remove the belts...you will break something puller or pulley. If you broke your pulling the hub then it is poss your pulley was failing to start with.

Yeah, if you were using an actual 5 ton 3 jaw puller, and using it right it won't scratch the pulley, make sure to grip it correctly.

Yeah i'll bet you pulled it from the outside of the pulley..don't do that..On the inside hub of the stock pulley, you will find 3 indents to where the puller jaw ends will rest into.
