70837, Engine not turning over after rebuild Posted by CrazyEclipse, Mar-16-04 02:39 PM
I just got my motor back from VT and had it dropped back in the car over the weekend. Today, I was going to get it over to the body shop for paint but the f***ing thing will not turn over. I'm having a friend of my dad, that owns his own performance shop, drop in my engine. Today, everything is hooked back up as good as it gets and it did not turn over. He hooked up his diagnostic thing and found out that there is no spark nor is fuel getting into the injectors... confirming that, he hooked up a bunch of gadgets to the coil pack, switched around a bunch of connections and such, and it STILL did not turn over.
I've also got a SAFC and Viper 790 in it, think one of those would screw up getting a spark or fuel? I dont think so, but it dosnt hurt to ask.
What do you guys think?

You disarmed the alarm before you start it right? Just throwing out an idea cause many times, i've started the car but the starter kill kicks in after 30 seconds.

im guessing it actually DOES turn over, it just doesnt start?? if thats the case, and youre not getting any spark, check the timing....theres a safety thing that if your timing is too far off, the it wont send sparks to the coil...if thats not it, check the usual, cam sensor, crank sensor doug

Are the spark and fuel fuses plugged in tight? It's so crowded back by the driver's side near the firewall that it's easy to overlook them.

There is a main wire harness that can be easily overlooked if not connected. On my car, its sort of right by the tranny. Its just a male plug on one end, and a female on the other. With all the wire harnesess around there, its easy to miss and not plug back in. Just double check all of your wire connectors and sensor connections.

Is this the same guy that called VT and asked if they started the motor before they shipped it, and got upset when they answered no?
"Well how do you know it'll work if you didn't run it first???"
I had a great laugh at his expense, if so. I wouldn't let him work on MY car.

Could be a guy posing as a girl. Who hasn't met one of those on the internet? If your gay, just say it.
