70051, someone please set the record straight for me

with an mls cometic head gasket do i still need to trim the ARP head stud for the #4 cyclinder???? i've searched the forums numerous times and haven't gotten a full answer.

by the way where else can you buy the HG..i was gonna order it from faster than you but their site has been down for awhile...any other ideas???

if you're in the process of changing your headgasket, i'd call Bob Kise, get a MLS from the dealership, and also get a set of some arp head studs, easier to install the head, remove the head, and will remove tendency for a leak. other than that, you can shave the corner driver side bolt a bit, but IMO....bolts suck, get studs.

i'm going with a cometic head gasket made for high boost,and ARP headstuds...the question is do i still need to trim the stud with that HG or not????

you dont need to do anything to the headstuds, screw them into the block, slide the hg over, slide the head on, torque top nuts with washers to 91 lb-ft

Why pay $100+ for a Cometic gasket, when you can pay $50 for a multi layer steel gasket from the dealer that's just as good?

I don't get it. The stock MLS will hold up to anything you throw at it just as well as a Cometic will.

i was helping friend locate a Cometic gasket for his LS-VTEC motor... he was saying "Ohhh well its a lot thinner so you get a higher compression ratio" or... "thinner so theres less surface area exposed to the pressures" someshit like that
