700, Just got the HomeDyno software

I just ordered the software from http://www.charm.net/~mchaney/homedyno/homedyno.htm
You hook up an inductive pickup from a timing gun to a spark plug wire, and record the sound the pulses make. Then transfer the sound to your computer and the software will plot your hp and torque. You enter various parameters into the software. Well I did it this weekend, and with a K&N filter and GS-t exhaust I had 120 hp at the wheels and 116 torque. So that seems fairly accurate. I'm thinking of ordering an inductive pickup instead of using my timing gun everytime. But somewhere on the web page it says you can just tap into the ecu to record the sound from the spark firing. Does anyone know which wire I would use for this? Or anything I could connect to to get this reading? If not, an inductive pickup is only like 10 bucks, so i'll just order one. Thanks.

Do you think you could rip the software and distribute it? Share the wealth man. But if you're afraid of the Feds coming after you for software piracy.. I didn't ask.

That would be cool:-) How much was it? Is it less then the G-Tec? Cause it has been tested to be very accurate. And it does more then just hp reading.

I GOT 3rd AT MY FIRST SHOW!!!:-)

Hey, it's only 40 bucks from that web site. I'd say it's well worth it. It gives an entire plot of torque and horsepower, not just peak. The guy who makes the software looks like just a regular car guy like any of us. I think he deserves your business if you want it. Sorry.
