YOU should port it... it's not hard AT ALL. do you have a dremel or a die grinder? all you have to do is put your gasket on to your tb and make sure it's big enough and doesn't hang over into what will be the air path coming into the tb. after your gasket is the right size for the throttle body, just take the upper half of your intake manifold off and line the gasket up with the bolt holes on it. then with a thin tip sharpie, trace along the gasket onto your mani (just the bore hole, not everything). then take away the gasket and grind everything up to the line that you made, and VOILA! you've ported your intake manifold in under an hour. oh and one me thing, if you want to save more that half of that money that you'll use for a modern performance tb, then you might want to think about this... http://www.dimensia.com:81/jimbo/JeepTBfor2gnt.html ^^ this is that i did.

^^^ That's not porting your intake manifold, that's enlarging the intake manifold inlet. POrting or porting and polishing your intake manifold is opening up the runners (porting) and polishing the runner to smooth out and direct airflow into the head.

At first I didnt open mine up any, I just threw it on. Still a great improvement over stock. If you have the time, port match it. =)

Just let ARD or someone local do it... I just had ARD do it, and they did a good job.

not worth the money IMO you really need to port that sucker out big time to make any real gains. or get a aftermarket manifold made like the fastfabrications piece

maby not worth the trouble for the average joe, but bored tb and port&polish intake manifold helped me out quite a bit up top.. I had to add a lot more fuel up top because I was going lean from the extra air flow

Well, yeah, I run a lot of boost, but that's all I was saying... If your boosting pretty decent, it's definately not a bad thing... but all motor... you probably wouldn't notice "much" i am sure.. edit: doh, just noticed we're not in the turbo section..

Sorry I did feel signifigant gain when I was 2L, the power would drop off at about 6500 rpms which is 700revs worth of ability out the window, I ported the Manifold, runners, cylinder head and milled it all and the difference was night and day, all on stock TB and CAI, this was a long time ago but the difrference was worth it, although I will agree that for the average joe it is a lot of work but is worth it if you are an All Motor guy
