Hey all, just order the Nopi NTK o2 sensor for 45 bucks shipped. Thanks for the info. Now I need to know what is the easiest way to install the upstream o2 because it is a pretty tight fit between my Hotshot headers and the fans. Should I jack up the car, and go from underneath, or go from above? What tools will I need, and can I do it without an o2 socket? Oh, and should I use antiseize on it? Can I use the kind that is made for spark plugs? Thanks.

make sure you warm up the car first, easier to remove when it's warm, then jack up the car and work from underneath. All I used was a big wrench, no special socket needed. Good luck.

I did it with the car cold. I just used non-flamable liquid wrench, big wrench and pulled that bitch. it is gonna be a little tough but keep working at it. also i jacked up the car. and did it from underneath. and definitely use anti-seize on that bix. altho it should've come w/ it on there already.

Same here, I just used some wd40 and left it for about an hour, came back gunted and groaned for about 5 min, while I pulled on that shit. But it came off and I wacked my hand on the concrete floor. I didn't have any fit problems with the fan though. Dude I think that you need a 21mm wrench to get it off. I used a 1.25 inch cresent, worked ok.

I have 93,000 and havent replaced it yet. What kind of problems were you having to force you to change it??

If you don't have the metric wrench, use a 7/8" wrench. Fits great. Yes, anti sieze should be on the new one already, but I like to put another dab on it. Yes, the same as You use on the spark plug threads. Keep it off the end of the sensor, JUST on the threads.

I used a "pressure wrench" (don't know what it is called in english)...lol came off fairly easy.

Yeah i replaced mine not long ago, and its best to get it from under the car. Think i used a cresent wrench, and it took some ish to get it off. Soak it good for a while, with it warm, then i took the cresent and a hammer and knocked it loose with a few blows on the end of the wrench. Just be careful not to hit too hard as to damage anything if you go that route. I belive o2's should be replaced every 50k right? I replaced mine cause of bad mileage but, didn't really do anything, but always good to replace anyway.

ok well i recently put in a new header.. and mine was a paint to remove.. it took a lil while.. until i got a huge ass 21mm open end.. and just cranked it.. and it came off easy.. just need something big so u have more power..


is there a diff in what o2 sensor i buy?? you said you got one from Nopi whats the difference in that one then stock?

i have been getting realy crappy gas miless lately so i think im just going to change mine to see if it helps..

Difference is price (don't know if there is a quality difference). Nopi has the NTK o2 sensor for 37 bucks plus shipping, which is way cheaper than 80 to 100 for other o2 sensors...

And NTK 02 sensors are made by the same company who makes NGK plugs, right? I think thats what it said on the box, but I'm too lazy to get up and check in the garage.
