69522, CEL 25 Posted by fungul, Feb-27-04 09:37 PM
Has anyone had this? The PCM code list says its the idle air control motor but I can't find it in the chiltons under that name. The only thing it has listed is the IAC which I guess stands for idle air controller and it is located underneath the TPS on the throttle body. Is this IAC the same thing as a idle air control motor? Has anyone had this problem and if so what were you symtoms?
Thanks,
Dean.

yes you are correct. it is on the backside of the throttle body. The lower one. The top one is the TPS- Throttle Position Sensor. If you are getting a code for the IAC there are a bunch of threads on here about how to clean it, how to fix it and how to test it.

ok I did I search and found how to test it. I checked the ohms and they are just fine. I pushed in the plunger but I am having alot of trouble pulling it out (havent tried pliers yet). Is it always hard to push in and out? Also while I was in there I checked some other stuff and found that the ignition coil is bad. Would a bad ignition coil cause a cel 25 since it would make it hard for the car to keep idle?
