just wondering if anybody knew about 98 ecu's i know one guy got it to work in a 97 and that howell was working on 98's but havent heard any thing else.
one guy was saying all you had to do to get it to work on other years was change some of the wires on the harness, anybody know which ones and how many. tia

New news!

1 - of course he got it to work on a 97. That's the only year they make them for! :P

2 - I am getting one soon. :P

I am the guy on here that is running it in the 96. The 97 and 98 ECUs share more similarities than the 96 and 97. If i were you, go to www.car-parts.com buy a 97 MT ECU, put it on your car, I am 95% sure it should work. Then send it off to howell.

If you have a chilton manual, it list all the differences in the ECUs w\a diagram.

I'd really like to try this on my 98. I'm not really up for spending $390 + $150 core to see it not work tho.

I'd like to see an ECU for turbo 420A's, personally. That would kick ass. I'm a '97 and NA currently, but when I go turbo...that ECU wouldn't do me much good.

Which one are you getting? the race unit or the street unit????
