Does anyone have the ERT cat converter? how is it? thinking of getting one due to that great pricetag it has. do they sell 3' cats for our car? thanks

We "can" do a 3" but it will not be a direct fit to the stock components. The size of the pipe wouldn't allow you to bolt to the stock hanger. You'd need to modify the downpipe and cat-back to accept the larger flange and bolt spacing (read: weld on different flanges). A 3" would only be useful on a 3" downpipe and cat back exhaust with no reduction in pipe size, for turbo applications.

I bought my 3' cat from RRE, i think it was 99.00 and i welded 3' flanges on, its a direct fit wether you have a aftermarket dp or not. i just welded my mounts off the stock cat onto the RRE cat. I still have a stock cat so if you guys are having a hard time with this then i can weld the flanges ect for you for nothing. just get the parts to me and pay for me to ship them to you a day later. Only takes me an hour to line everything up and weld them.

so far every ERT product I've seen is of great quality and I can't wait until I get my cat! these guys know what they are doing IMO.

yeah, i would like 3" piping all the way through, from turbo dp to exahust

if you will have a 3in downpipe flange with the same angle as the stock flange, then we can make a 3in direct bolt on cat using that exact same angle.
price for a 3in is $110 if you buy in on our intro price, but if you wait, the price will be $130 normally. take my word on it, ive seen catco and random technology cats, and these honestly have the best construction. very thick heat insulation, and alot lighter than the stock cat.

I have the ERT 2.5" Highflow converter. Been meaning to write a Product review for it, but have not gotten around to it.

Construction is definitely beefy as promised. It is a direct OEM replacement that is way lighter than stock (trust me on this). I definitely can feel a difference between the factory cat and the ERT piece. Spool up and top end has definitely increased. Other things such as exhaust tone is much more noticible (depending on system of course).

I encountered two problems during my installation, that is not related to ERT. Coupled with my RSR 2.75" catback, and XtremeRS' 2.5" DP, the whole exhaust system was pushed back a bit, causing the muffler to hit against factory hangers. I ended up having to shave the adaptor 0.5" to get the whole system to swing forward. Once again, not ERT's fault.

Overall i am very pleased with this product that I have purchased. For the introductory price of 95$, I can't really ask for more. For you future 3" people, RRE sales exhaust gaskets (2.5 or 3") for 8$ a piece. It is the metal composite with the built in fire/sealing ring.

One recommendation that I would like to make to ERT is to have them provide gaskets as part of the package for a slight fee if possible. Not everyone lives close to RRE, or has time to hunt down gaskets.

Tips on installation: being a choad and installing the cat at 3am, I intially installed the cat upside down, where the hangers were hitting the heat shield. I was contemplating on cutting the hanger, until I dozed off under the car and woke up with an idea.... flip the biach upside down....voila....Like a glove....! Line up the joints first then tighten evenly all at once.

Problem is the stock bolt spacing on the stock downpipe. You can run the nut into the pipe.

The only purpose for a 3" in my opinion is on a turbo car with a big downpipe. So if you want the 3" you should already have something ready to go, or be willing to modify. A 2.5" pipe before and after a 3" cat is useless.

I do have a 3inch cat back and a 2.5 DP but not everyone has the money for a 3inch cat back right away. It is very customer friendly to make your products so a person can buy a 3 inch cat and add the 3 inch exhaust when they have the funds. 2.5 cat is pointless unless you are just going to upgrade a N/A, if you want turbo then in my opinion set yourself up to go 3 inch, dont waste your time buying a 2.5 cat you will replace 6 months later.
