Since I put on a 2" larger wheel from stock it seems a little slower to me. Is it cause of the size or the weight of the rims?? Also curious about my speedometor. Am I going slower than it says or what?

wheel size doesnt matter. tire size does. tell us about your tires.

and yes, they might be heavier(the rims that is)

The bigger the slower (w/ the exception of bigger super light weight wheels), the actual wheel being bigger puts more rotating mass further away from the center of the hub, therefor slowing down your acceleration. The only reason race cars have big rims is so they can fit their big brakes.

Also if your overall wheel + tire diameter is differen't your speedo. and odo. won't be accurate. The larger the diameter the slower your speedo. and odo. will move. You can see how far your off by going on the highway and getting a buddy in your car to time you going from one mile marker to the next.

aahhhhh...that makes sense....I went from a 265 tire on the 14" rim to a 255 on a 16" rim.

Not th eonly reason. larger diameter tired allow for lower profile tires which have less sidewall flex in a turn. Improving handling.

try 225/45/17's!!!! too bad my rim width is 7, i'd prefer 7.5 or 8 though...

but yeah, my car is faster accelerating with the 14" steelies than with the 17's (which are only 17lbs). but the thing is when i put the 17's on, there is a world of a difference in handling!!! it's even clearer than night and day.

They could just put low pros on smaller wheels. Such as our Forumla SAE car at Auburn (ranked 4th last year in the world).

i like my 235/40/18 tires. fit quite nicely on a 7.5" wide rim, sidewall is good size, handles great and awesome traction
