I was wondering which spark plug would be the best to use for our cars. I am getting the screamin deamon coil with crane wires. I know that I need them gapped to .065. I was thinking between the Bosch platinum +4 and the ngk irridium. Is there one that would make better power?

Try the search button, there are countless threads about spark plugs on this board.

First off, spark plugs don't "make power". But the correct spark plug for your particular setup will allow your car to run at it's full potential.

IMO, if you're car is N/A, anything with a good spark works. Bosch Platinum +4's would be fine. If you're running nitrous or turbo, NGK's seem to be the plug used by most of the members on the board.

Also, I think your gapping your plugs to big. Mine are gapped at .035.

On the howell website it said since the coil would be giving more volt you would need to make the gap .065. sorry for not using search first

EDIT: I am N/A with intake, exhaust, gutted cat, UDP, and cam gears. I have heard that copper is the best conductor in spark plugs so I will stick with them, but one question what would be the difference if I get one range hotter with the setup I have above and the coil and wires?

read your car manual....it'll tell u the correct cap...i think its .50-.54

The Screamin' Deamon coil boasts higher output and recommends a gap higher than stock. Platnum +4's you cannot alter the gap on. I've heard people pay obscene amounts for iridioum spark plugs.

I run Accel U-Groove plugs.

With just bolt on mods, you don't need a different heat range plug.

what kind of mods would you need in order for it to be different? head work, porting and polishing? excuse my ignorance

EDIT: I know you need a colder range plug for turbo. But I was wondering about a higher heat range.

I'm running one range hotter than stock NGK's. I like them alot. I'm also going to buy a screamin demon coil very soon also. I forget the part # for the plugs, but just tell them(Advance/Autozone) that you need plugs for a 1998 Galant 2.4L. It will take forever if you explain you have an eclipse and want to use these plugs. Hotter = better for NA and colder = better for boost or N20. Goodluck and be sure to tell us how things go.

*I'd gap the plugs to the recommed gap specified by screamin demon, run the car for a little, remove the plugs and check for metal shards. If you get metal its not good and you should close the gap. (On second thought you might should gap them less...) Either way I would NOT pay more than $8-10 for a set of plugs. Anything platinum or multi-pronged will not help you IMO...

bosch platinums. They work

NGK Copper BKR5E-11 part number is 6953. It is one range hotter than stock. I use them and they work well (I am N/A)--about a 1.80 a piece and I change my plugs every oil change to be anal. I guess my feelings are that after a couple hundred miles, a spark plug is a spark plug, so why pay 5-8.00 bucks on platinums or iridiums? Just my preference.

also, @ 0.050" yields me about 28-30 mpg so I am not complaining.

Thanks for all your replies it help make my decision. I am going to get one range hotter with a .065 gap we'll see how things turn out and if I need the gap to be closer than that will only be another $8 so no big deal. Again thanks
