I've got oil leaking from some where between the firewall and engine on the passenger side. The leak was there before I changed the head gasket and of course its there now and it apears to be coming from below the head gasket. I've also changed the oil pan gasket. It leaks down onto the eaxaust tubing kind of around the Cat and its really hard to see in this area even when I get underneath the car so I can't see where its leaking from. Has anyone had anything similar or are there oil lines or anything like that in this area?

The oil pressure sender is in this area? Is it easy to spot?

Yes its easy...if you under your car look for it on the block on the passangers side in the rear of the engine...or directly bellow the 1-2 cyl intakes...hard to see from top if leaking or not

Mine was busted to hell and i changed it with a dohc neon one....working good the good ol "oh shit" light

Does it go by another name? I can't seem to find it in my chiltons but I know that they seem to use different names for stuff than most people do (charge air cooler instead of intercooler etc.)

Oil pressure sender is it's technical name.

It's very easy to spot on the back of the engine block (from underneith, with car jacked). There will be two sensors petruding, it's the driver side one.

Mine also leaked oil (just as you described) and I had to replace it.

thing-a-ma-jigger, doo-dad, thing-a-ma-bobby are other names, but nowhere to be listed in any technical books.


mine leaks too i think, i cant tell from all of the oil coming from the back of my head

i believe it is coming from around your bellhousing from a main seal leak, mine is doing the same thing, it leaks oil onto the exhaust and it smokes when i park the car.
