I just recieved my non mudular spec stg 3 clutch today. I should have gotten a modular, but I forgot to ask lol. Anyways I was wondering, how is it gonna work out cuz no fly was included. Can I use my stock fly? or am I gonna have to dish out some more money for a Fidanza light weight fly? Thanks

You are going to need to get a flywheel. Fidanza or Spec, you can get a lightened one. I can see what Spec would charge for a standard modular flywheel to make your clutch complete.

Yeah, you could do that.... if you had a stock flywheel that wasn't rivetted to a stock pressure plate.

Couldn't he reuse his old one by just drilling out the rivits and tapping the holes? :shrug

Neon guys sell plenty of these for about $40-50. Just go to their site and in the classified section, post a "WTB: non-modular flywheel." Get it, and have it turned to about ~.033 or .33 or soemthing like that IIRC. Doublecheck that step height though by calling SPEC.

Yes, you can drill out the rivits on the stock modular clutch, and use that flywheel. This is cool, because now you can bolt that sucker together, and can rebuild the clutch when the time arrives. Right now, I am using a stock modular clutch, which was drilled apart, custom ceramic disk, and then bolted it together. It works. Only issue is the head of the bolts may interfere with the flexplate. Just find different bolts to use and take note of the clearance. Also doing it this way, makes it MUCH easier to put the trans back to the motor, when the motor is still in the car. Goes on just like a modular clutch, but you still retain the stock flexplate, and now you have a rebuildable clutch. Best of both worlds :) YOu could also tap the flywheel for threads, and then you would not have to worry about the clearance issue. My has the head of the bolts on the flexplate side, and the nuts are on the pressure plate side, using red loctite on the bolts.
