okay whats the best way to put the crank gear back on the shaft. the one the t-belt rides in. can i just get a pipe or something thats big enough and tap it on, or do really need a special tool?

I put mine in the oven on 500 degrees for about 20 minutes or so, maybe longer. Then I put some federal mogul bearing lube on the end of it to take friction off. And used a rubber mallot/wooden dowell and a hammer to put it on. Then you can tighten the bolt to spec. It was fairly simple for me and I've used all the ways I described above.. g'luck

We used a 34mm socket on mine. Pounded away with an old copper mallet. Just make sure you don't lose the key!

Toss it in the oven for 10-20 mins at 400 degrees or so, it will slip right on.

Done it that ^^^ way twice. Just make sure you dont smash it all the way flush against the oil pump.

sorry guys, i dont mean the UDP. i mean the actual toothed gear. the crankshaft sprocket. the one behind the UDP.

I used a 1.25" shortwell socket I believe. Used a thick washer, and a crank bolt. It wont go all the way on, because of the crank getting in the way, hitting the back of the socket. I then just used the udp(or stock pulley) to push it on where it needs to be. When the udp is all the way on, the timing belt gear will be all set..You WILL need a longer crank bolt though, if you do it this way.
