I was planning on getting my TB bored at Howell. I wanted to know if anyone else has done it here. Do they put a bigger throttle plate on it since it's bored to 55mm from ??mm?

Yes they put a new throttle plate on it. I haven't had mine bored by them but I did buy mine from them and sold two used TB one of which I know was bored by them. The stock TB is 52mm at its largest point but tapers in several mm like a venturi towards the center of the TB. They bore 55mm all the way through (its 3mm larger at the largest point but several mm more larger thant he smallest point of the stock TB).

Ok, new question. Anyone got a stock TB so I don't have to have a 2 week downtime?

I got there TB on my 98 Turbo Avenger, and for the 100 they charged it was alright, The throttle plate, or butterfly inside, doesn't close all teh way, unless you actually apply pressure to it with your finger, I was a little bit dissapointed....

I had mine doen at Howell and was happy with the product.

Shant if you compair the bored TB to a stock TB, the throttle plate doesn't return to completely verticle. There is a little angle in it when it's closed. I checked mine too I thought it was off at first. But I compaired the two and mine sat at the same angle.
