Well, do I need one when I put 2-3 psi on a 2gnt? I don't know, but people have been telling me I do, to adjust the air/fuel. Before, I thought someone told me that our cars will work up to about 5 psi? But wasn't for sure. Thanks

Our cars will handle up to 8 psi of boost without upgrading the internals, 5 psi without an intercooler.
With any form of boost you have to have a rising rate FPR whether it's 3psi or 30 psi. Search bro, read, learn, you have a long way to go danielson :)

Well, people have different things to say about boosting. I am learning, but too many people say too many different things. I guess, my question from someone who knows, is too boost? When I boost, I now know I need the rising rate FPR, but do I need also a block (diode or cap)telling the computer there is no boost, when in fact there actually is boost? Thanks

nothing personal friend, but thats NOT all you need to know. Its sounds very much like you need to learn a lot more about turboing. dont go boosting based on what others tell you. especialy if they are honda nards! If they dont specificly have some knowledge of the 420a, them you had better do some searching on here and learn. you do need to know much more...

Sorry, not turboing. I just needed this info only, Just didn't want to run alittle lean at 2-3 psi. Thanks anyways,

What in the hell are you talking about??? ^^^:wary :shrug You do realize that boosting refers to turboing, dont you?
im a tad lost here... if you are running "2-3 PSI" and your not turboing, what exactly are you doing? where are you getting the extra "boost" from?

Go ahead and have fun. It is electrical, but nothing like a leaf blower. It already does push 2 psi, (98 Eclipse, but running lean, exactly why I was asking questions regarding this) still have alot of things to test, working on the 3 psi. Either which way, it is already pushing the same pressure up to redline, unlike all these other guys trying to sell products. I am waiting to have it complete and dyno tested in front of all my local DSMers, so you guys can know it is not fixed.(That is my main focus, to show infront of a non biased crowd) What is cool about it, is it looks like a normal Cold air intake. There are no rubber home depot water tube holders (which I matched up the product numbers with the e-rams stuff. It is directly from home depot), no leaf blowers (honestly, I did try that along time ago, before all this started, but was one of the first to find out it didn't work), nothing like anyone has ever seen. Oh, and unlike that stupid guy who did e-ram, mine only pulls 40 amps which is way less than his, which he says only pushes .35psi. But anyways, go ahead and have fun. Lets put it this way. I own 3 companies, have already patented 1 product for motocross, and have many more in the works. Lets talk about who is smart and who isn't. Like Kerry said, "bring it on."

But what's the point of getting a FPR, New fuel pump, Missing link, bla bla bla If you're only gonna run 2psi off a electric blower? Just go turbo.
You'll have a hard time selling that product

67555, RE: Rising rate FPR? Posted by miedosoracing, Jan-30-04 05:23 AM
One more thing about all these other guys. I have been working for two years on this, and working mainly on the pressure and power. What I think is stupid, I saw in a magazine the other day. Electric supercharger 15,000 watts. First, I would like to see that out of our car batteries. Basically all of these dumbies are saying theirs pulls out so many watts and amps. Um, my goal is to draw the least amps while putting out a reasonable pressure. Then, the one in the magazine said $3,000 for one. Why the hell would you buy an electric supercharger for $3000 when you can buy a normal supercharger for that price or cheaper. My goal is to offer mine at a low price that would offer a good increase in power. I am thinking when I can officially get 3 psi out of mine, I will try to sell it for around $900. Not too bad price wise for people who are doing their add ons.

67556, RE: Rising rate FPR? Posted by miedosoracing, Jan-30-04 05:24 AM
At 3 psi, you shouldn't need a new fuel pump? You are only increasing the fuel pressure by 3 psi aren't you. Isn't a FPR 1:1 ratio?

Again, bring it on as far as intelligence goes. Lets say your current ET is 16.98 @ 79.3 Then you add 30 horsepower at 3 psi. Your new ET would be 15.98 @ 84.2. But you knew that, since you are so smart. But as you would also know, 3 psi would give more than 30 horses. I know this is all kind of a joke to ya'll, because many have tried and many have failed. But instead, you should learn from others mistakes and capitalize on it. Just watch, and yeah, I will fly people down to see it. I will need certain trained people to install it.

I don't want to argue with people, I came here for help. But unfortunately, the world is so closed minded, that they make fun of what they don't know. As far as the money goes, I see people spending like $200 for a cold air intake (remember, this is basically a cold air intake for anything under 4000 rpm, so you don't have to buy the cold air intake), $300 for headers, and stuff like that. So for the price, 30-35 horses is very reasonable.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I am going to sell everything needed for $900. What ever parts needed; FPR, Missing Link, R1 Turvo which includes the whole intake and airfilter, and what ever else I find I need. Everything to bolt on for $900. I am not actually out for the money. I am out to show everyone that it can and will be doable. I have enough money per say. This is just a destiny thing I have to complete, because I hate to leave things undone. I want to show doubters that anything is possible.

Give me about a week or two for photos. I am working on the fiberglass to make a shell that goes from the turvo to the intake pipe now. that is a pain to work with. I need to figure out if I am gonna have a Carbon Fiber company make the whole unit for me. Actually, when I get it to work right, I might just sell the patent and be done with it. who knows.

Uh, that is why I came here to ask questions on certain things about the 420a. As far as knowledge, just knowing a 420a engine, is not saying you are smart. If I wanted to focus on learning about them, yeah, I could learn alot. Actually I have explained what I am doing, but for people like you, that is why I don't talk about it too much. Thats cool, thanks chris and whoever else supports inventions. Here's what I have learned in my many years. I remember these things coming out, and what people had to say about them. CD's, now MP3's, Turbos compared to superchargers, DVD, computers, cell phones. I remember people at my old work saying i was stupid for leaving the company, and I wouldn't make it on my own. The list goes on and on. People who don't embrace change call people like me morons. Thats not a problem. I can stand up straight and say I have been in the military, worked my way up to the top inside companies, and now own 3. Patented something, am writing a book, and have other inventions in the works. So to that extent, I will say I am a moron, if that what it means. What I really love, is the people who tell me I am a moron usually work for a base shity paycheck, and take shit from their boss. They learn one or two things that they are good at, like the 420a or a factory job. I love my life, and what I have accomplished. Oh yeah, I'm fluent in Spanish too. No school, just learned by speaking it.

miedo, don't worry about arguing with all the kids on this board.
interesting proposition - having a significant amount of boost w/o a high electric load. I saw that advertisement in the latest sport compact as well, about 15seconds of boost - makes you curious about the electrical system. As for your idea, I'm always interested in seeing what entrepreneurs come up with. be sure to post results
yea, carbon fiber a tube - it's not terribly difficult, you just have to make a mold for two "halfs" of the tube, and bolt them together.

Well, i have to say i was all prepaired to come in here and let the shit start flyin over this electric turbo thing. However, you seem to be 'not-as-moronic' as i initialy thought. I will reserve judgement and shit flingin till i see/hear about the end results. i do wish you luck.
BUT, i still dont understand why you would put all this time, effort, money, and energy into something that quite honestly will never make you any money, and simple wont "take off"? i only say it like that because for the estimated asking price of $900 for the 30-35hp you MAYBE will get, you can buy a complete used turbo kit that will give you at least twice that for a bit more money, or a new Nitrous kit that will give you up to 75 hp for half the cost. Im not meanig to sound like a nard, but i just don't get it. Its not a viable alternative to whats out there now. Not to mention that the stigma attached to the concept of an electric turbo would be enough for most guys to not buy it.
But as i said, i do wish you luck and this is just my $.02.

Yeah, the stigma that you speak of, is part of the reason I want to finish this. Too many jokes and idiots out there that push like .001 psi or something. I have a dedication to myself to finish this. As far as the money, I am not really too worried about it. My insurance agency brings me about $10g's a month, after taxes. I am doing it just for myself and myself only. Like I said, I started before I had even seen anything on the internet about it. As far as who would buy it if I do decide to actually sell it. there are many out there that are too scared to mess with the real turbo stuff. I personally would just pay someone to put one on my car. As far as my R1 Turvo(v volts, remember it is not a turbo, or a real supercharger, I made this name up) it has 4 wires. 1 power to battery, 1 ground to battery, one ignition switch to turn on, and one to the white wire that runs the tach. Can't get much easier for someone. Just mount the black box to the fender wall, install the intake ,and plug in the wires. The stuff I haven't learned yet are the FPR and other stuff. That is why I am asking about it. But I appreciate that some people are wishing me luck. If I can't get it to work, I will be the first to make a joke about it. But I already do have 2 psi. I just need to do two things. I need less amprige and alittle more pressure. I want it to push 40 amps at 3 psi. Until then I am not happy.

900 bucks for 30 HP? And another thing, 30HP is NOT going to take a full second off of your 1/4 time. No way, no how...I do like to see people go about doing things differently, using some imagination, and engineer a product for our cars. I think its great you are putting so much time and effort into it,but I honestly don't think your final outcome of 3psi or so,is really going to be worth it,for 900 bucks..You will def feel 30HP gain no doubt, but on our heavy ass cars, it really isn't much to brag about, let alone spend almost a grand for..I really don't think an electric compressor/motor,or whatever it is, can spin fast enough to create enough pressure and airflow to make decent HP..YOu know how much 40 amps draw on an alternator? It DOES put a mechanical strain on the alternator, which takes HP to drive...

What my comparison for price was based on, is Headers and exhaust, Cams, Cold air intake. People buy these every day for more to get 20-30 Horses. Also remember, 3 psi will actually be closer to 12-13 horsepower per psi, which equals 36-39ish more horses. On the 98 eclipse, I have a boost gauge. It is reading about 1.7 psi to be exact. I am trying to get more out of it, and can feel more power but some lag due to the leannes. Still have to work on more pressure and less amps. I understand the pull on the motor. But lets say I do get this working fairly well. It turns on at 4000 RPM, but at all other times it is free flowing. i am sure someone could come up with a capacitor type unit that will run the motors without drawing from the alternator and battery. I don't really want to mess with all of that right now. my main goal is run 3 solid psi and at only 40ish amps. Remember, even in a quarter mile, you are only in it about 15 seconds. So most of the time, street wise it only is on for about 5-7 seconds. Anyways guys, I appreciate some of ya'lls encouragement. And help. I will be back in about 2-3 weeks with some photos. Take care chad
