6677, yet another engine swap question... Posted by XtremeRS, Nov-08-01 12:25 PM Ok, this might have been asked before but check this out. I was installing a remote start today at my shop on a 98 chrysler sebring coupe. I never noticed this before, and never really payed attention, but the car has many eclipse features such as dash, doors, and center console, since the car is made by mitsubishi. The engine bay is almost identical to my 98 RS, less the Chrysler 2.5 liter twin cam v6. Looks like everything including the computer is identical to the clipse. So not that i would ever want to do this, but more out of curiostity, would this engine swap be possible? Looks awfully tight in that engine bay with the v6, and actually the whole front clip looks almost identical. So anyone out there who knows anything bout this, speak up!!! | |

6678, RE: yet another engine swap question... Posted by 1TuffRS, Nov-08-01 01:14 PM Someone has stuffed a Sebring V6 into an Eclipse GS and it was up for sale on Ebay. There was a grip of posts about it in the temporary forum. You should check the archives if its not still there. It looks good until you find that you have to go with an automatic, which unfortunately made V6 sebrings slower than the I4 sebrings/avengers with a 5 speed | |

Sucks that its about the same performance as what we got now. If only they would make a turbo kit for it, thats if it could fit into the engine bay. I think that would be some power to contend with! | |
