66581, What does DTC 55 (pulses mode) mean Posted by kjwillia, Jan-14-04 07:13 PM
I have a 95 2GNT. The car was running fine when I parked it in the garage. After it sat for several weeks do to poor weather conditions here in the NW I changed the oil and tried to start it, NO GO. It acted like the timing was off, lots of raw fuel and it tries to fire after lots of cranking. I pulled the valve cover and the cam to crank timing is right on. I ran the diagnostic check using pulse mode and the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) flashed 55. I checked it a few times to assure I was not reading it wrong. I disconnected the battery to clear the codes, re-connected the battery and got the same code again. I couldn't find this code in the factory manual. I call the local dealer and the also did not recognize this code and were not aware of any TSB on this issue.
I would appreciate any help you could give.
Thanks in advance for your help,
-Kevin

it means that the ecu is done checking the car for error codes and didn't find any.
