Can i just use the muffler itself from GReddy on my GS, or do i have to get all the piping from the package. Because i'm searching around the internet and i usually come across only the GReddy EVO package, not just the muffler.

And if i got it what is the difference between all the piping and just putting the muffler on itself?

u cant buy a greddy evo muffler alone, only a knockoff.... if your just gonna buy a muffler get a magnaflow, i reviewed it on the mainsite and gave a link to where to buy it

the muffler itself wont give ant performance gains... the whole cat-back will....

prolly won't sound that great either... that whiny sound you hear on a lot of cars w/ aftermarket mufflers are usually b/c they just hacked off their muffler and put on a universal tip. this leaves the stock piping all the way back to the muffler. when you buy a full cat-back all the piping from the catalytic converter to the exhaust tip gets replaces with larger better flowing piping. usually gives a much deeper sound and helps a bit with performance. the gains are a lot more noticable if you're turbo though (which would necessitate the larger piping)

i have a 98 GS with a custom intake, pretty much stock except for that. If i were to put the GReddy EVO Exhaust on it now, would it decrease or increase horsepower, i hear it decreases it since there isn't really anything in the engine that would increase air flow.

the entire exhaust would increase horsepower. you would defintly feel a difference... just make sure you get the non-turbo version with 2.5 inch piping, not the turbo version(which is 3inch piping)
