65937, Which Exhaust is recommended? Posted by b-rok, Jan-06-04 06:44 AM
I am just starting to mod my 99 rs. I have and aftermarket intake and headers, now I need an exhaust. All the DSMers I hang out with are 1g Tsi guys and don't really know. I've been looking online, but don't want to get one that I haven't at least heard. I am looking for 2.5 piping for a little power gain, but don't want anything that is really loud, a deep sound is good, and I certainly don't want to sound like a go cart. Kind of deep sounding and not too loud, yeah, that would make me happy.
Any of you guys have suggestions on what kind to get?
Bruce

Why do that when it's so much fun to ask.

im sporting the greddy evo and i love it. around christmas time it would set off alarms while looking for parking places. its very deep and rumbly in first gear from 1100 to 2700 or so. idle is pimp too. also, it doesnt drone on the HWY, after about 65-70 its more quiet than stock IMO.

Flowmaster Catback. Not as loud as the Greddy exhaust, but still will give a deep tone and good performance.

I'll say it. The Apexi N1 is by far the best sounding exhaust I have heard on a 2GNT. Yeah the muffler is a little big, but you get used to it.

I have the Apexi N1 on my car now and I love it. Personally I think the size of it fits well and can't imagine having anything smaller. The only bad thing about it, is that it hangs very very low. Because of the way it is angled and because of the size :) But as long as your car isnt dropped too much its excellent! very loud! rawr!

You should hear it now, I think it is getting better with time, or worse, but I like it better :).

I have a N1 and it is the best sounding and looking exhaust imo. I have got nothing but compliments from it. You can only hear it if you are gasing it, if you are idling or cruising you can barely hear it, which is good.
