Well when we refer to fuel cut we mean that the rpm's have hit 7,500rpms
The top speed of a 2gnt hasnt been found. I think the automatic is a little bit slower maybe toping out at 125mph. I have got my MTX up to 128mph at redline in 4th then switched to 5th and slowed down.

There was that guy here in Arizona who died trying...


Unless you get her on a track, it really doesn't matter. In NA tune, by the time you get to those kind of speeds, the other car will have likely disappeared over the horizon. :P

I made it to 130 once and it seemed to want to keep going. That was all stock.

The fastest I've been is 121 and it took a long time:D It's not really worth it to try imo ther is too much @ risk for NO gain. I just didnt feel comfortable w/ the car @ that speed. Almost like the car could have been blown off the road w/ a light wind. I need some suspention mods LOL:)

146ish, at 10 psi's about 2 years ago,still pulling but egts started climbing.

about 188 on bike.

Fuel cut is 7250rpms and our tranny gears out at 152 or 153, any faster and you are lying or you don't have a stock tranny

I thought our tranny geared out at 167 or some ish like that? personally ive only had mine to about 110-120

I think someone here popped the front wheels up and let the wheels spin. He posted a pic on here of his speedometer somewhere and got around 160, but I dont know how fast our cars can go considering wind resistance at speeds that fast.

If the car is lowered it should creep up a lil higher shouldnt it? Heh ill let you know when i get mine, its pretty low...

But if the person who touched 167 has alot of engine mods he could probably do it if the engine can rev higher...

Lol yea, about the R1... im kindai nto bikes, own a 96 FZR600 thats not street legal, but i have a video on my pc of a tank cam on a r1, the guy accelerates to 171mph, and right as it hits the 171mph mark they slow the video WAAAYYY down, and circle the COP CAR that is a blur, and you can just make out the cop standing by the trunk radaring, then the video speeds up and you can see the tach drop as he pulls over.. LOL, if i were going that fast i'd keep goin, by the time he got in the car you'd be outa sight.

As long as your car is sitting low on soft springs. A lot of people think that stiffer springs would help more, not true. At high speeds the air flowing over the car well actually push the car down helping keep air from under the car which is the enemy. Also taking off your back bumper would help a ton. The back bumper well cause a lot of drag.

Wrong, a car is shaped much like a airplane wing (not by purpose, but where else are you going to put your head and still see out of the car?). The air on the top of the car is moving faster than the air under the car due to the longer path the air has to follow to get back to it original place. Faster moving air exerts less pressure. So the air above your car is not pushing down, it is sucking up. There are a few ways of fixing this:
a) make speed of air on top = bottom by the shape of car (not possible with car already assembled).
b) Wing to cancel out the lift by making more downforce.
c) increase speed of air under car (remove rear bumper, under chassis panel, etc.)

hell yea, email me that vid, with the massive amount of mods done to my r1 i want to say 195-200 is my max speed, at 188, it was still creeping pretty hard, after i hit 180- it would increase about 1 mph every split second. so 200 isnt far off, im dying to hit 200mph, just on a closed road or track.

Before going turbo I've hit 130+ with just intake/exhaust and springs. The video he was talking about with the cop car is somewhere on www.uponone.com. I tried looking but didn't find it. Maybe under the speed section...crazy vids on that site! :bowdown turbo bikes

on the stock manual tranny it'll top out at 163-167 mph
with the 5th gear out of a SOHC neon it'll top out at 205 mph

ive gotten to 135 on the interstate. (for about 5 minutes) thats at about 5200 rpms. had to stop cause i only have h rated tires. and egt's were climbing.

...it doesn't, It is obvious who has topped out here in there cars and who hasn't. Due to the speedo bouncing a bit I can't be on the dot but Stock I've gone 135 and topped out with turbo and 2.4.

Top speed on the NT tranny is 152,153. With base Neon gearset it is still only about 185 or so...your exaggerations are killing me

EDIT: on a different note I do have a video or a 2G maxing out his gearset in his factory turbo bustin out 186

i have gotten my car(nt) to 149 mph on the way to denver, it had to be atleast 4000 ft above sea level. i still had plenty of rpms to go. if your tops out at 152 or so there is something wrong with it.

Well i know about the top speed of my ex-bosses car... he had a 93 talon with his own custom motor he built heself... he owns Concept Raceing... His car was limited at 9k rpms... damn that sucker was fast i don't think he dared to take it over 200... it was a TSI AWD Heavily Modded he sold it for almost 30k and bought a Lancer EVO and now hes modding that thing up. here is some of his list of when he sold the car

my rs went 135 according to the speedo which is inaccurate, what the speedo says and what you are really doing is different. best way to do it is carry a handheld gps.

...how about you do this. Work out it's gears on paper with some math. What are you refering to with plenty or rpms, is it 100rpms or 1000rpms. It's like 21mph per 1000rpms

Stock trans: 3.94 final drive, .83 fifth gear, 7200RPM redline.
SOHC Neon: 3.55 final drive, .72 fifth gear, 7200RPM redline.

Plug those in any gearspeed calculator with a 24.5" tire, and you'll see he's right and you're not.

2gnt 5th redline = 162.83

Neon SOHC set is 208.33

Neon SOHC 5th & 2GNT final = 188.10

I was close though 162.83/7.2~22.62 I think I said 21 or so
