I don't trust electric superchargers as far as I can throw my car.

I've also yet to see a well designed supercharger for us. What a real supercharger kit should do is replace our manifold and run share the alternator on the same belt. Pulley kits and you pick your boost. I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

looks like 3 startors rigged to a gear set... Could probably build the same thing for about 1900 less

actually its a neat product, I bet it works, maybe not as good as they say, but I bet it will produce some nice gains

its not just a fan, its like a supercharger that runs of its own motor instead of yours.

Id like to see someone actually try one,
If everyone donated 5 bucks we could buy one and try it out:)

It said you can only run it in derations of 15 seconds. For 2g's and "10" hours worth of install I better be able to run it all day! That alone would make me not by it. I would buy N2O 1st LOL!

here's the way this thing is supposed to work: you flip a switch, and the alternator is diverted from running the car (i.e., the battery powers it) for a few minutes. during that time the "electric supercharger" powers its capacitors up. then you flip the switch so the alternator goes back to its regular functioning. when you activate the "electric supercharger", it uses its stored up energy to activate some high-speed fans and they add positive pressure to the intake.

this will work in theory. it is completely non-parasitic (during the run), however i think the estimates for the charge time are completely inaccurate. hes talking about producing MASSIVE amounts of power in a very short amount if time, and it just cant be done like that. also, show me any battery/capacitor technology that is that compact and will produce those results and i'll call you a genious. you probably WILL get some boost from it, just not as much in the timeframe hes talking about. the second concern i have is about the structural integrity of somthing like that. i know damn well im not about to put a rapidly moving piece of new machinery in my intake. that brings up a point mentioned earlier: this invotation has no redeemable edge on a turbo. it supposedly does the same thing, but comes w/ many downfalls. waste of money, IMO. :shrug

"i know damn well im not about to put a rapidly moving piece of new machinery in my intake."

It is not a fan they are using but a small roots type supercharger. Far from a new piece of technology. The screws in the roots blower are moving far slower than the turbine in a turbocharger. Yet you would put a turbo in your intake path?? I agree with your conclusion of it is a waste of money, but are different reasons.

is that the thing that cost like 2G's and on top of that you have to buy extra batteries and a heavy duty alternator? So not worth it IMO when you add the cost of the "supercharger" + battery + alternator + fuel mods = ass raping - lube

could you just buy a capicitor from like radio shack to power it instead of robbing your alternator? plus if you put a capicitor in the engine bay, people would freak out trying to figure out what it was for....if you dont tell them.:shrug
