I am hoping for 200whp all motor. does anyone know waht it takes to have all motor with 200whp.

isn't skrilla turbo?? and alot of guys have hit 200whp on 2.0 block being turbo, But if your talking all motor... you won't see that until next year when we all bolt on to the dyno at that shootout! Their might be a couple of us.

Every once in a while you'll see me post something about "having a turbo" or "when I was turbo" or something to that effect, but I haven't been turbo for a while now (over a year, or a year and half), anyway, yes with the 2.4L , which I've had for a while, I'm making pretty good numbers. I've raced 5 7 12 pound intercooled 2gnts and have been beat by on the 12 and put away GST's GSX's some 330 bimmers and some Boxsters, these are just the cars I've beat. I can't name how many times I've been wasted though by Vettes I wanted to play with or this sick 1G AWD or the 6 highly modified Scoobies in my area. I'll go turbo again but I want to put it down at the shoot out with something Psycho NA and the swap. It looks completely stock with the exception of the MM, or the hole on top of the hood. With 2L I think we can make 200WHP, but it is a lot harder and will be more peaky. We can get the sick power up top with the cams compression and tuning but we may suffer a little down low.

ANYWAY, it takes ALOT to make a 2gnt fast all motor. for one we don't that vtec (although you can buy those stickers!), and our cars are waay too heavy.
the same money making a 2gnt fast all motor can make a turbo 2gnt that's faster.

but dr1143 (or whatever), brian is attempting the all motor, hi compression route. he's serious about it too! so he'll probably start putting down some mean numbers when everythings all is said and done.

I am quite serious about it. I have gone for a couple rides in run4cvr's boosted GS and thought to myself "am I doing the right thing?" I mean, for the amount of time, money and effort it's going to take to hit the 200 mark (actually I'm shooting for 230 at the crank guys. I KNOW I'll make 200.), I could be pushing some serious power to the ground if I went turbo. So it really tears at me from time to time. Then I think about how sweet it's going to be winding Daisy out to 8000rpm all motor and hearing that custom 2.5" exhaust scream bloody murder and I'll be damn near as fast as his car and I realize that the only thing I'll really be missing will be the sound of the spooling turbine and the BOV salute and I think I know a guy here in Arizona that can hook me up with a slightly used, fake BOV if I really want it. :P

So the all motor race is stronger and more competitive than ever here at 2GNT. Billymack has thrown his old 2.0 to the curb in favor of a boosted 2.6L on the bottle like Brynden, so this makes Todd's car the current fastest car around. I may not beat him or Michael, or even Totaleclipse97 (who sounds like he's caught the all motor fever too), but you can rest assured that I will be there and I will bring it with a vengence. I'm not going softly into this good night and I'll definitely be hunting down those stock TSis and GSTs as often as I can.

200whp is possible with the 420a but it is very hard. To make 200wph you are gonna need lots of RPMs and a pretty big cam. I have the AFX ECU and crane #16 cam, and I dont think a 16 is big enough. If you look at cars that have 100hp\liter or close(B16, B18c, H22)(SR16ve, SR20ve). They all have high compression and some form of V-tec or Neo-VVL (Nissan's i-vtec). Looking at the high cam in Honda's engine you will see that the cam is bigger than a Crane 18 for the 420a!! Big disadvantage.

The AFX ECU takes car of the timing and revlimiter. But the 420a still doesnt have the huge intake ports like a honda engine, it doesnt have the good flowing manifolds like Hondas have either. high compression pistons are available though.

So basically 200whp is possible, but only with lots of mods. With the mods I have, i might be able to put down 170-80whp with a good dyno tune.

PS. When are the custom intake manifolds coming out??

the only thing about honda's is they have all HP but no Torq. I mean you might have 200 hp in a b18 honda but only 120 or 130 torq. But the 420A will have 200 hp and 200 torq So who is going to put harder?

That is totally wrong. The K20 motor found in the RSX-S has 200hp and 142 torque. That is more torque than the 420a. If u were to get 200hp out of the 420a torque would be no higher than 140-150 at the max. There is no way a 2.0I4 NA can have 200hp\200torque without nitrous or turbo.

Plans include said AFX ECU, Crane 18s, full ERT Race Port job, 1mm oversized SS valves w/ Ti hardware. Should be making decent power above the 6krpm mark imo. We'll see this summer...

Sad but true.

I don't know what mods you have but you should check into a 3-angle (so it's streetable) 12:1 or 12.5:1 CR, bigger cam, gears and of course the 8K redline.

What people don't realize is how the VTEC really works. VTEC is NOT used for high rpm power it is used for broad TQ. VTEC simply makes the transition for sick lobes livable because only having sick lobes and lift would make a gutless powerplant that was very peaky with only high HP. There are so many Honda haters here but I'd like to say that VTEC still spreads out their measily TQ across the rpms and making as much as 80% available from 2K. No one has to believe it just look at a stock Dyno of a B18C1(5) and you'll know what I mean.

With that in mind. A 2L with sick cams would start to get a little boggy down low, but not as much so with 200WHP just because of displacement and the TQ it would produce to make the HP (since HP is merely a calculation of TQ). So, like I said, 200WHP is do able, just not very easy

i do like the honda engines alot. But simple fact Without 6000 to 9000 rpm in a honda there isn't much power below that. If you look at a dyno of a b16 then a 420A. Yes there is more HP But where is the torq curve. THe 420A has a better pull by far till 6000rpm. I raced a vvti celica and they have what 180 hp. A year ago at the track i raced the celica. Well i beat it. He got a 15.7 and i got a 15.6 And with the mods added up we both had the same stuff done. And both are cars weigh the same. Now why is it that i beat him and he has 40 more HP stock.

i think 200whp is extrememly optimistic. check the dynos of michael97rs, vx100, and avenger with their na steups to get a good gauge of what to expect. they are badass setups, i had one pretty similar to those guys but just to give you a measureing stick stock evo's run 220-240whp.

SCC JAN issue check out the GTS with a 14.2s slip (the slip is printed) they can be fast if you know how to drive them.

I've seen anywhere between 15.1s quarter to 15.6s bone stock. I'm not taking anything away from you becasue a kill is a kill but I'm just saying they are actually quick stock (quicker than us stock by far)
