64441, Complete exhaust for turbo 420a set up... Posted by eclipsekaiser, Dec-09-03 09:29 PM
recently, I got my 2.5" DP from Matt (which looks great). My current exhaust set up is the RSR 2.75" catback. I have yet to find a company that manufacture 2.75" cats (anyone that find one let me know).
My question is this:
Should i set it up as 2.5" Dp ===> 2.5" cat ===> 2.75" exhaust
OR go with a 3" cat...?
I can't believe I'm posting a question about exhaust options...Guess there is a little bit of Noobness in us old members.

well, id go with the DP to 2.5" cat and try to open up the flange on the back end to get it closer to 2.75.

I take it you are turbo or have done some mods to the car in order to increase the air flow in order to need an exhaust larger than 2.5 right?

yes it is turboed, and yes a cat is required to keep it civilized in the great state of california:puke
2.5" dp===> 2.5" cat flared to 2.75" adaptor was what I was thinking as well.

Use james' gutted/melted cat!
Just weld in a 2.75 pipe so it's a straight-thru setup, I bet it would fit perfectly in that 3" ID cat shell :)

Well I have mine to a 2.75 ish Star DP =>2.5 test pipe => 2.5 exhaust.
Make sure the gaskets dont disrupt the flow that much and even the step from 2.75 to 2.5 looks too ghetto ish for me. If you can get the Catwith some reducer flanges that would be ideal.
