I just bought a '99 OZ yesterday. It ran fine it last night, I was going through a parking lot, and it just acted like it wasnt getting gas. Well, I thought maybe something was just being weird, well, it got worse, and just acted like it was only getting fire on one cylinder. I was on empty for about 8 miles or so, and it was the gas that had been in it all the time that it sat at the car dealer. I put gas in it, and fuel system treatment this morning, and it seems to not miss, but when I push in the clutch it stays at 2k then slowly falls to 1,1k, but last night it was idling at 800. Also, last night went I was sitting still the temp. hand got about 3/4 of the way up, but when I would drive it would come down pretty quickly. I didn't ever here the fan come on. I looked in the fuse box, I seen the black colored fuse that said HI rad. fan, but there was no fuse in the one that said LOW rad. fan. Can someone help me with this, I haven't signed the official papers yet, but I will have to today or tomorrow. Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Hmm.. I would not buy it. Tell the dealer what it is doing. That it is overheating and missing. If you buy it, they should fix it. How many miles are on it? It might need to get timing belt changed. It could be a timing thing. Not sure about the overheating, mine sometimes does that too, but as soon as I drive it cools down. It does not happen often. I would start by telling the dealership you want these things fixed.

I don't understand the HI/LO rad fan thing...my 99 has that too... but the car only has one speed, and only one fuse just like yours. Came that way from the factory. Overheating is usually a coolant flow / air trapped problem.

You should definitely hear the fans turn on. What happens when you run the A/C while the engine is warm? Both fans should come on.

I took it back and they said that they would fix it. It kinda quit the stutering around, but does it ocassionally. BTW, it has 39k miles. Also, another thing that I left out was that there was a really bad smell when that stuff happened. It didnt smell like burnt wires, it just had a really stiff odor.

Dan, thats what i was talking to you guys about. As far as i know non of the non turbos have the 2 setting. The manuals say we should and they should come on depending on the speed and temp. hi or low one fan or 2, just doesnt make sense.
