OK I was reading past posts about lsd's and heard bad things about phantom grips's. What are my alternatives? keep the price relatively low.

Search for the RetroFit LSD. Lots of info, hanging around, and a NICE writeup on the main site.

The retro fit one looks cool but I dont know If I would want that much downtime. Is the phantomgrip really that bad? Has any one had any problems with theirs? I would live to get a qualfie, however I cannot see myself spending 1200 bucks on it.

from what I have heard, the phantom grip isn't a true LSD, it just locks the differential, basically making it a solid axle. not good for turning, since one wheel has to lose traction to turn. basically, its made for drag racing.

It only locks the wheels when you have lots of torque applied to the engine. Otherwise, it's like stock.

We are setting up a dealer account with Retrofit, and will be looking into getting some differential cores, add a core charge to the price and and give no down time.

I have the alabama man LSD unit. It is a slide in box unit like the phantom grip but is much stronger, has stronger springs, and comes with machined flat spider gears. I love my LSD. Exit ramps are so fun. The car gets to the point where understeer (front pushing) is about to happen then just grips and take the curve easily. In the rain both tires have equal traction. And it comes with a stronger diff. pin and safing brackets. COMPLETE PACKAGE.
