If you have a 1 piece AEM CAI and was extremely paranoid about hydrolock....then couldn't you just cut it into two pieces with a dremel or something to fit the bypass valve? Anyone ever done this before? Thanx!

ive heard that the bypass valve is not worthit. but yes you do have to cut it, use a hacksaw.

yes, you could, but i always heard that the bypass valves suck anyway so what i did was cut my intake and when it was raining hard out or in the winter i would keep my filter in the engine bay, kinda make a short ram out of it, then on hot dry days put back on the cai extension, takes like 2 secs. to do

I made a splash shield from aluminum flashing to go under the filter from the front of the wheel well to the bolts along the bottom of the bumper. It keeps the spray from the tires from getting on the filter. It wont help much if you go driving through 10" of water but I hope you would'nt do that anyway. I've hit many a big azz buddles w/o ever having a problem.:thumbsup

Thanx for the feedback. I like the idea of making it a short-ram. The problem is that if it rains really hard there are a few spots in town where the whole road is about 4"-6" deep and my car is lowered. :thumbsdown I guess I could just put it in neutral and idle through those.:wary
