63041, temp. Posted by majicalevil, Nov-13-03 06:58 PM
For a while now after i let the car warm up just at idle. It hits the center spot "normal temp". Well after i start driving for a while probley 10-20 minutes the temp starts going down alot. I can feel the difference when driving. Its like when its really cold out and you first start the car and get the oil warm then you can get on it and it has some decent power. Well mine is doing that all the time while driving down the highway. then when i let it sit for about 2-4 minutes after the drive it finally gets back up to temp. I have a video of it. I start at 60 and then drop it and get to 80 and the temp just goes down some. and i leave it and it drops more. It is gettingthe the Cold "C" marking on it and staying there like it has just been started.

You can replace both the sensors on the thermostat housing for under $30 total. They are fragile and don't take well to a socket imo, so pull the whole housing and be careful with them. The ECU reads them to help determine some engine parameters too, so it could affect your performance. One is for the actual temperature reading to the ECU, the other for the temp gauge.

I've got the same problem man. Doing exactly what yours is doing. I was told that my thermostat was getting stuck open. Might wanna check into that.
