63000, FTO engine Posted by anotherblitzedeclipse, Nov-13-03 06:25 AM
This might be a really stupid question :wary, but is it possible to swap the 6 cylinder 2 liter MIVEC FTO japanese engine into our cars? Ive heard of Lancers doing it. We have a 2500mm wheelbase also dont we? :shrug Has anyone heard of it being done?

If you are going to swap in a V-6, go with a 3.0L, not a small 2.0L that doesn't gain you any displacement.

only thing you have to take into account is that the FTO is RHD. and youd have to change up the wiring, get the mivc controler, and everything else. it would be cool but would be mad $$

Its just not worth it as noted above. There are 2 fto engines btw. a V6 and a 4 cylinder model. MIVEC from what ive heard on the fto forums, just helps acceleration in handling , and if youre gonna do that big of a job, yeah just go for more displacement. Hell, the new Lancer ralliart thing or car coming out has MIVEC, and its #'s are not all that impressive so theres your comparison.
