Hey everybody, I'm a new guy. I already checked in the "Already Seen It" section, didnt find this, so here it goes.
When any of you guys installed your cold air intakes did you have to modify the plastic housing that covers your horn and such? The piece i am talking about it right under the bumper, and is part of the wheel well cover, it covers right where the filter should sit. Dont know if im down with cutting pieces of my car off just yet unless absolutely necessary. Im relatively new to the import tuning, used to have a 92 AWD, but it got totaled before it got anyhting done to it. Drive a 98 GS now. Thanks for the help

No you dont have to modify that hole it is big enough.....just put the piping in then when you have it mounted jack the car just high enough so you can get underneith to put on the filter onto the tube....very very simple stuff

Thanks, I just wasnt sure about it. I'm currently playing Email Tag with a company (TriVision Auto), then bought a cold air from them and the short intake pipe didnt fit, and there was no instructions, im trying to get my money back, then ill just buy a K&N.

go ebay, a tube is a tube, just buy a better filter if it comes with a shitty one. fitment might not be so great but i havent seen one yet that wont work, it just might be a little more difficult to install, but still crazy simple. 35$ shipped is MUCH better than 220+ shipping IMO.good luck :thumbsup

Well not exactly. There are matters of how it was bent, what material, what gauge pipe, thermal properties...

*edit* Also pipe size and any changes in size for intake air velocity and volume. Depends onhow in depth you want to get.

Leaky.....Thats what im stuck with right now. A CAI i bought off ebay and it doesnt fit my car. the short pipe is to wide of an angle to fit onto my intake manifold and go between that and the battery box. im in the process of trying to get my money back from the company. ill prolly buy one from Makoto Auto Trends, ive had good experiences with them so far with my strut bars i bought from them. $49.99 front and rear bars....cant beat that.:thumbsup

my AEM CAI didnt touch the black plastic fender well piece at all. My horn was in the way but that was easy to adjust. I loosened the bolt, pushed the horn up, and tightened it. whala.


or a used AEM from 2GNT for $65 shipped! Thanks to the for sale section.. thats how i got mine!

The AEM is a smaller diameter than my Injen, which rubs a little on the plastic, but no big deal.
