My jeep tb is refusing to close striaght up and down (l). I wants to point at an angle(/). I haven't installed it yet cause Im afraid it will idle at about 4k. Any ideas. Yes I ported it and I dont remember if it closed flat before or not. My port job does go right down to the bearings. I can see light trought the top of the butterfly with it sitting at that angle. So any help or ideas plaes.

you ported the whole thing?....all you needed to do was port the little lip....its supposed to sit at an agle, if it sat straight up and down, it would get stuck all the time....if you can see light through it, then either the port job is bad, or the butterfly isnt sitting correctly in the shaft :shrug

the spring may be pushing agianst the TB exterior too much causing the plate to be off center. Try making the spring smaller or centering the plate.

I've still never gotten mine to close all the way. over 20 wasted hours on the project.
