62479, smoke good compression no missing fluids
Posted by shell899, Nov-02-03 02:45 PM
Hi,

I'm new here I have a 98 Eclipse RS 2.0, with 93,000 miles
Car has high highway mileage due to my job i travel. Oil changed every 2500 miles.
Over the past month I have had white smoke billowing out of the tail pipe with alittle condesation of water there also.
A compression check was performed and the cylinders were all even at 195-200. I have NO missing fluids. My oil cap is clean and the resivor is clear with just antifreeze it doesn't have any muck in it or anything looks great.
Car idels at 1000 rmp and doesnt miss or anything runs fine. Just major white smoke.
Any help here would be appreciated.

Email me if possible Shell899@aol.com

Thanks:)

I think white smoke means you are running lean but That used to happen to me When it got cold out.

Sounds like a headgasket problem.

I even took the catalactic converter off and looked in it I looked fine you could see thru the screens wasn't clogged. And No I am missing NO FLUIDS! But the white smoke is billowing out and there is some condensation in the tail pipe and the compressions are all 190-200.

Thanks
