62231, Help! Please! Oil loss. Posted by calcio20, Oct-28-03 01:35 PM
;( Well I had my engine rebuilt about 3k's miles ago. During the first 1st 1k I used dinosaur oil. Then I switched to sythetic. About 1k miles into the synthetic I started losing oil. I lost about around 3/4 of quart in that time which made me realize something was up. I figured maybe my rings didn't seat properly? So I switched to dino 10w50. I hoping this will stop the lost. And hope they'll seat. Any insight as to what could be happening. Tommorow I'm having a compression test done. Should tell me a bit more. Any input would be great!

well is there a ton of oil in the engine bay? is it burning it? you must have a leak somewhere, or you're not putting enough oil in or its burning off.
take a look around the engine for leaks, oil pump, sending unit etc... _________ 96 talon esi-t san clemente, ca
