62201, help tranny grinding noise
Posted by delusionaleclipse, Oct-28-03 05:43 AM
i start the car up in the morns, and i hear the most god awful noise ever. its a grinding noise coming from the tranny. and it only happens when its cold. i press the cluth noise stops release cluth noise starts. alot of people are telling me its the throw out bearing. but when it warms up it will nomrally stop. so should i just go ahead and replace the cluth/plate/flywhell cause it needs to be and more importantly the throw out bearing.:shrug

thanks

They're noisy. it happens. it's not going to make your floorboards fall out or anything. Unless there is something wrong with the clutch, just wait and do it next time you need to do a clutch job.

Used to happen to mine when i lived up north. It comes from behind the drivers side wheel well. I was told it was a throw out bearing. but almost everyones makes the noise.

rattling sound, or louder, more obnoxious whining, not quite squeal, but loud loud sound?
