61721, After Hesitation MAJOR Loss In Power!!!!!!
Posted by EclipseRacer95, Oct-17-03 02:59 PM
Hey everyone!

I am happy to say that i have finally got rid of the hesitation that i had been experiencing for qquite some thime. But now my head turns to yet another major problem. Since the hesitation has left it seem that i have the same bogging out at WOT as it did during the hesitation but without the bucking and jerking. I have tried everything: plugs, wires, fuel filter, and 2!!!!! bottles of injector cleaner. I just cant figure out what is wrong. It seems to accelerate fine with like the throttle in about 1/4 or some but once you go to punch it to the floor it bogs out and there is NO torque. Can someone please help me restore my car back to normal. It only has 89k on it!!!!! TIA

Sure the plugs are in good? The way our plug wires are designed, they can actually twist the spark plugs out of their sockets if they arnt in good enough. Or if the spark plug wire isnt in just so.

Did you allow it sufficient time to break in? Im an ATX so dont know much about MTX but I know with any sorta friction grip (aka brakes) you gotta let em set and break in. Otherwise they'll glaze over and not work and slip.

Anyone else gunna reply to this thread? lol

I think it's slipping clutch.

edit: try pushing the clutch in and revving it to see how it performs compared to when you are moving with the clutch engaged.

Sounds like a nasty vac leak somewhere.

I'd think a nasty vac leak would cause nasty idle though.

:shrug hope he figures it out, cause i had the same problem and hated my car for a few days.

nah i doubt it. i hacked my air box before the ICEMAN and I didnt have that problem. Check at your PVC valve, the vacuum above your throttle body, any of the vac ports on the backside of your intake mani.

do you have a fuel pressure gauge? get one if you dont. it sounds like to me a bad 02 sensor or bad fpr, just my 2 cents

No cel on? Your injectors are dirty, 2 bottles of injector cleaner wont do it, Your ecu thinks that everything is fine because everything is correct except when you step on the gas fuel dumps in insted on misting in. The ecu dont know this, therefore it wont throw a code. You need to take your car to have the injectors cleaned out. It cost like $100, but it will fix your problem, It takes like an hour. Midas does it along many other small shops and exhaust shops. You can waste alot of money in a hurry looking for this or just take my word for it. After you have this done it may take an hours worth of driving to completely cure it.
