I have a 420a and when I start the car up in the morning I hear a annoyting chirping comming from the timming belt area. I just put a new timming belt in but did not replace anthing else in there. Its not the assy belts or assy tensionor. It makes this noise for about 5 min, then only does it when I accel, then it only does it when WOT, then it stops. I THINK it might be either the timing idler pulley or the timing tensioner pulley. What you guys think??

try tightening up your belts.

sounds like its the ac or ps belts. Mine always use to squeel until i replaced them.

Does it squeek more when it rains? Mine did.

Its not the belts. Its a squeaky bearing noise. Plus I tried tightening the belt. It doesnt sound the same as a squeaky belt. Its more of a chirp. No, squeaks the same in the rain.

The bad bearings that I've heard have always been "grindy" not really "squeeky". You probably should have replaced the timing belt pulleys while you were in there. You really don't want one of them to fail.

Mine did that for a while too. But I don't think it does it any longer. I didn't replace anything to stop it though If it was comming from behind the timing cover then you would be able to tell that the sound was a little muffled. I'm betting it has something to do with the belts, or the ACC items. Also with the pulleys they may not squeak when they don't have the tension on them, like if you try to spin the pulley without the belt on.
