61602, some good pictures of my 2.4 project Posted by alain95i4, Oct-16-03 08:35 AM
I bought a scanner on ebay for $1.25 :-) works great too !
so the first I thing I did with it was to scan a bunch of real pictures that I took while building the 2.4 engine, and not some really cheap low-resolution vidcaps like I posted before
here's the url http://www.asog.net/modules.php?set_albumName=album198&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php&page=1

the 2.4 DOHC first generation share the same head with the neon 2.0 DOHC the 420a is almost the same head with a different flow side they all share the same headgaskets too so the head was a direct fit and the timming belt too the idler pulley, the timming belt cover bolt holes, the cam holes everything was a direct fit abd that makes you think why DSM/chrysler didn't put an optional 2.4 engine
the timming belt was not done when those pics were took but I use a set of stock cam gears, put on the 2.4 side I did my timming like a 2.0 first and flipped one gear and put a new timming mark on it then I flipped the other gear and marked it the result was a pair of stock cam gears with the right timming marks for a 420a head on the 2.4 side and the belt itself is a chrysler oem 2.4 belt

I should get a Crane #16 on the Intake very soon :9
exhaust will stay stock 2.0, it should turn into a nice exhaust turbo cam on the 2.4 , just like the crane #14 set is on the 2.0 the stock 2.0 has a few degrees less duration than a stock 2.4 and more lift too and if it doesn't work well I'm gonna buy something else later
