hey i was thinking about installing some solid urethane motor mounts. first do thay make them for our car. i talked with a few guys that say there is no difference between turbo engines and ours, but I'm not sure about that. second if any body out there has them are the too harsh or do you like them. Last thing are they inserts, where you have to have stock intact one to use in conjuntion with them, or are they total replacements. thanks for your responses.

They're inserts. You can get them from Energy Suspension for $25. I have them installed. The vibration is tolerable, it makes my car hum at idle. Haven't tried redline yet, my motor's not broken in yet.

The motor mounts are exactly the same between turbo and NT, only different locations.

When i worked my engine, i decided to get the stock rubber motor mounts. I took a ride in another eclipse (it was a gs-t) with the poly-urithane, and it was a harsh ride, expecially when the revs got up there. So unless u plan on racing with the car.. all the time, i would just stick with the rubber. Besides, i never heard anyone complain about our stock mounts.


97' Eclipse RS (kinda)
HRC stage III turbo kit (12-18 psi)
HKS 2 1/2" cat back exhaust

420A engine w/ billet crower rods, and 8.5:1 JE pistons

Big difference Chysler 420A in our car, Mitsu 4g63 in theirs.

I have the Energy Suspension front and rear inserts. They are noticable at idle for the first week or so. I don't even realize they are there now. They really help a lot with the wheel hop problem that we have.
Howell sells a solid front motor mount that totally eliminates wheel hop. www.Extreme420A.com sells side front and rear SOLID mounts. Those would probably be a little rough on the street by the looks of them. I would be willing to be a test mule to see how streetable they are. :)

The energy suspension bushings are inserts. They slip right in the stock mount. About a 1 - 2 hour install for both.
