I would have to say from experiance go with the block from FTY. It's going to be really hard to find someone in your area that is going to do as good of work. I had my first motor built locally, it was s piece of shit. Slaped like hell, blew after 5000 miles. x(

I don't know were you live but I wouldnt trust anyone but Koffel's Place to do any of my engine work. They build great engines and specialize in mopar engines. Dave Koffel Has a long histoy with the Mopar Parts Division and His son Scott has designed his own motors. Koffel's is the biggest rival to Indy Cylinder heads and out perform them In every way. The have a shop in Waldlke Mich. And Huron Ohio. Ask 99blackGS he'll should know there rep.

i would go, and am going to go, FTY, paying the extra on shipping is worth it for a quality job that you know is done correctly.

Why not just buy the block and parts allready assembled in the kits that FTY and Howell sell?
I would spend the extra and get the crate motor sets.

That is just me however, if you trust somebody enough to do it, than save the money, however I don't trust anyone that much. I wish I could do it myself, but without the tools...

hmm I hear good things about CP pistons. Costs more though O_o
